About
the label klamauk° was founded in august 2008 in mainz, germany. klamauk° collects and promotes music & art produced by artists from around the globe. the german word klamauk means confusion, rumbling, shouting, noise, riot, spectacle, bustle, turmoil, hullabaloo and unrest. besides this abstract interpretation, the label’s guiding principle and concept is rooted in the fact that nothing in sound and design is more abiding than change.
to deliver on this principle the idea for the first five releases is to engage a well selected variety of artists with different viewpoints and approaches to enrich the musical spectrum of each release without loosing klamauk’s own musical viewpoint: microfunk. klamauk covers 001-005 are pre-printed with a black and white design base, then colored manually by the artists, turning every cover into a unique piece of art.
